Brief Biography
I am currently working as a senior researcher in the ALGO-COOP team of CERFACS on the development of efficient algorithms for Earth system prediction. I am part of the Representation Learning for Earth Observation (RELEO) chair of ANITI.
I received my B.S. degree in Mathematics from Ankara University in 1999 and M.S. degree in Scientific Computing from the Institute of Applied Mathematics at Middle East Technical University in 2003. I worked as a researcher in TÜBİTAK Space Technologies Research Institute for 4 years on the radiometric and geometric calibration of satellite images. I had my PhD at CERFACS on solving regularized nonlinear least-squares problem in dual space (with application to variational data assimilation) in 2013. I worked one year at ECMWF on the development of efficient minimization algorithms for operational weather forecast problem.
